20 years running about the hills, rafting wild rivers, caving dark depths & climbing crags, Menopause caught up with me.

My own search for menopause wellness led to dedicating my focus to helping women transition as naturally as possible, physicall,  mentally,  emotionally

With over 10years experience in holistic health, Liz owned her own business in the USA, sat on the board of Directors for Reflexology Association of California, volunteered her time and expertise at numerous wellness and cancer centers. 

Taught Holistic Health in NZ, USA, Nepal and Bhutan.

Liz is MyMT Certified under DR Wendy Sweet, and continues to run  events for The World Reflexology Foundation

Qualifications

Majoring in 5 Element Acupressure, Liz also utilizes Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage and Massage techniques to rebalance your Menopause.

 AND is a woman going through this change with you! 

So totally understands the emotional, physical and mental toll this time of change deals you.

The beauty of Natural Modalities is that they have been in use for thousands of years; therefore prove themselves by this very fact. The modalities work holistically with your body to bring about Homeostasis - Balance. The word holistic means, WHOLE.

IE: Hot flushes are a rise in your body temperature. Instead of just simply cooling our body temperature, Reflexology for example, holistically works with your hormones involved - the endocrine gland that secretes that hormone and the cause and effect of the entire endocrine system in relation to your HOT FLUSH. Therefore getting to the route cause.


Explanation: 

Think of it like coming across a road closure, you can see there has been a traffic accident and traffic is being redirected. (Your body is externally being cooled down with a cold compress).

What you can't see however is the reason for the accident. (Hormone levels changing, creating excess heat in your body).

The cause of the accident was a pot hole, the driver swerved to miss the pot hole and ran off the road. 

(Your Hypothalamus (the pothole) stimulates your Pituitary Gland (swerving the car) which in turn stimulates the Thyroid which is our thermo-regulator (running off the road). Traffic is redirected  (our body temperature rises and we have a hot flush). by the arrival of police and ambulance (cold compress).


So 'seeing' behind the scenes of the accident (hot flush) allows the entire picture to unfold, and therefore that 'pot hole' (endocrine imbalance) can be filled in; saving other traffic from the same fate.



Peri-menopause is the lead in faze to post-menopause. 

Many women do not realize they are in this phase because many symptoms are small and changes are gradual, sneaking up on us.

Symptoms can start in your 30's or you may not experience these if you go into surgical menopause. (Menopause due to surgery ie: Hysterectomy) 


  • Depression
  • Lack of focus/concentration/forgetfulness
  • Unexplained anger / frustration
  • Lethargy and "where's my mojo"
  • Achy joints and muscles
  • Irregular periods
  • Breast tenderness
  • Menopause symptoms such as cold chills and hot flushes
  • Changes to gut health


  • Peri-menopause as per above
  • Menopause - this is the 'umbrella' term for all 3 stages. You could look at it as the phase where our period starts to fluctuate before completely ceasing. You may notice your period is shorter or longer in duration, the length of days between each cycle changes ie once every 2 months instead of monthly, over time this will space out even more, until you cease to bleed for 12 months or longer.
  • Post-menopause - the time after we cease to bleed for consecutive 12months. Your body may trick you and you bleed again on your 10th or 11th month, in this case you are still in 'menopause'. If you have ceased to bleed for 12 months or more and your period starts again ie: after 18 consecutive months, it is important to see your medical provider. This can be an indicator for cervical or womb polyps – growths that are usually benign. (non-cancerous). The decrease in oestrogen levels can cause inflammation and thinning of the vaginal lining (atrophic vaginitis) or womb lining (endometrial atrophy) – resulting in post-menopause bleeding. It is also important to note that HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), elevated oestrogen levels and obesity can create a thickening in the womb lining (endometrial hyperplasia) which can lead to womb cancer.
